Call for Mural Artists!

Participate in the Orange Community Art Fest – August 16, 2025

The Orange Art Center (OAC) is seeking mural artists to design and lead a community mural project during our inaugural Orange Community Art Fest! This collaborative mural will be painted LIVE during the event, inviting participation from community members of all ages.

We are looking for creative artists with experience in mural design and community engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your vision to life in a public space while engaging directly with the Orange community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Artists with experience in designing and leading mural projects.

  • Artists who are enthusiastic about working with the public and guiding participants through a collaborative painting experience.

  • Designs that celebrate community connection, unity, and creative expression.

  • Event Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025

  • Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

  • Location: Orange Art Center, Pepper Pike, OH

  • Artist Compensation: $750 stipend, with all materials provided by OAC.

Mural Theme:

The theme focuses on community connection, unity, and creative expression. We encourage proposals that reflect the vibrant and dynamic spirit of our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Design a mural to be painted collaboratively during the Art Fest.

  • Prepare the mural space and materials prior to the event.

  • Facilitate and guide community members as they participate in painting on event day.

MURAL DESIGNER Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the event free?
Yes! Admission to the Orange Community Art Fest is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required to participate in hands-on activities, including art stations and the community mural painting. Walk-up guests may attend and enjoy vendor tents, exhibitions, and food trucks as space allows. Activities may be limited if we reach capacity.

What is the compensation for the mural design?

The artist compensation for mural deign is a $750 stipend, with all materials provided by OAC.

How will the community participate?

We would like the community to participate in a “ paint by numbers” approach! Participation of attendees of all ages is encouraged!

Where will the mural pieces go?

The mural will eventually be split into sections and shares across the municipalities of the Orange City School District communities.

What happens if it rains?
The event will take place rain or shine. Certain activities may be moved indoors in case of inclement weather.
