A lifelong artist a passionate educator, Sophie’s favorite teaching position was as the director of a financial literacy program at a refugee resettlement agency. Before that, during her years at the Ohio State University, she taught classes in Hebrew, yoga, art, and community organizing in both paid and volunteer positions. She began studying metalworking in 2015 and started her own jewelry company shortly thereafter that she runs today out of her Cleveland studio. Sophie has learned from artists in Cleveland, Columbus, Portland, and Barcelona, and has taught jewelry making techniques to a few curious customers. She loves sharing her passion for jewelry and metalworking through teaching. Sophie’s natural ability to nurture a fun, supportive, and engaging environment lends itself perfectly to working with students of all ages, skill levels, and in a wide variety of subjects. Sophie is excited to share her knowledge of metalworking and her love of self-expression through jewelry to the students at Orange Art Center.
