Art Explorers

All are welcomed! Located at Orange Art Center Studio 4. Grades K - 2 and Grades 3 - 5.

​Now at the OAC! New projects, more exploration! Young artists will join their Orange Art Center teacher after school to participate in art projects that focus on creative techniques including painting, collage, illustration, and craft. Students will develop independent art-making choices while enjoying group and individual instruction and encouragement. Being an artist is an excellent way to end the day! All supplies included. Resident students will be conveniently chaperoned and shuttled from Moreland Hills Elementary to the Art Center.

NEW! Intro to Photography for Teens - After School at OAC

All skill levels welcomed! Orange Art Center Studio 1. Grades 9 - 12.

Do you have a camera at home and don't know how to use it? Want to improve your skills but don't know where to start? In this introductory photography class, you will learn everything you need to dive into the world of photography: camera types, lenses, essential settings, different shooting modes, lighting, and composition techniques. Students are encouraged to bring a DSLR camera or can rent one for an additional $50 for the duration of the class. Please be sure to select the rental option when you sign up for the class.

A DSLR camera rental during class is available for an additional $50 one time fee. Please be sure to add this option during checkout AFTER you have already enrolled.

Steps on enrolling with camera rental add on: 

  1. Enroll as a Resident ( one-time or auto-pay option) or a nonresident (one-time or auto-pay option); receive course confirmation via email. 

  2. Log back into Eleyo and enroll again in Intro to Photography for Teens (25WOAC228)

  3. This time, select the $50 Camera Rental Add-On and enroll; confirm via emailed receipt and course confirmation.

WEEKEND CLASSES

NEW! Mixed Media Explorations

All are welcomed! Studio 2. Grades K - 5.

Think outside of the box and get creative in this fun, mixed-media exploration class! Young artists will learn various techniques and work with various art materials, including acrylic paints, watercolors, pastels, collage elements, and more. Grades K-2 in the morning and grades 3-5 in the afternoons! All supplies are provided.

Cartooning + Character Design

All are welcomed! Studio 1. Grades 3 - 5.

We are back! The fun of cartooning and character design is all wrapped into one! In this class, young artists will learn to design iconic characters that tell engaging, fun stories through group exercises, presentations, and self-directed projects. Learn how to draw characters with personalities, draw expressions, use color to communicate moods, and more! By the end of the class, students will have individual projects that encapsulate their iconic characters and character narratives. Students' final projects are self-directed to encourage characters and stories reflecting each young artist's interests, skills, and creativity. New and returning students are welcome. All supplies provided.

Curious Clay Creations

All are welcomed! Studio 3. Grades K - 5.

New Projects! Curiosity gives space for the mind to explore! In this class, young artists will let their curious minds lead them as they learn and apply clay techniques to various art projects with fun themes! Students will learn basic hand-building, glazing, and surface designs in a friendly, fun ceramic studio environment, all while nurturing fine motor skills and creative decision-making processes. Grades K-2 in the morning and grades 3-5 in the afternoons! All supplies are provided.

Experience the world like never before in this fun and creative " Art Around the World" 3-part series brought to the OAC by Dibbs on It Creative Learning! Each workshop will focus on a foreign country, along with interesting facts, cultural practices, traditional art, and more! In this session, young artists will explore the countries of France, Mexico, and India for a fun and educational art experience. All supplies are provided!
