ART CENTER COORDINATOR II
Erica Emerson is an experienced art administrator and educator with 16 years of commitment to improving arts education and community involvement.
For the past decade, Erica has served as the Education Director at the Canton Museum of Art, where she managed a variety of educational programs, classes, and tours. Before this role, she worked as the Education Outreach Coordinator at the same museum and was involved in managing the Visiting Artist Outreach Program, which focused on connecting artists with the community.
Erica began her career teaching art in Gatesville, North Carolina, and Zanesville, Ohio, spending two years at each location. These early teaching roles provided her with valuable insights into art education and the diverse needs of students.
Her efforts in the field have been recognized with the Ohio Art Education Association Museum Division’s Distinguished Educator Service Award. Erica has also contributed to several community advisory boards and has taught a Museum Education course as an adjunct instructor at Walsh University.
She holds a degree in Art Education from Kent State University and is dedicated to continuing her work in advancing arts education and fostering community connections.
