BECOME AN OAC ART INSTRUCTOR
Do you have a passion for teaching art and inspiring creativity? The Orange Art Center (OAC) is seeking talented and enthusiastic art instructors to share their expertise with adults and young artists (K–12). We welcome creative ideas for ongoing classes and workshops in any medium or style, from traditional fine arts to contemporary and experimental techniques. Whether you are interested in offering one-day sessions, multi-week courses, or hands-on intensives, OAC provides a supportive environment to foster creativity and artistic growth in our community.
Compensation for positions range from $25–50 per hour, depending on experience.

Orange Community Education and Recreation is seeking an enthusiastic and creative instructor to lead a family art class for preschool and kindergarten children and their guardians. This class meets on weekday mornings, with additional time for daily set-up and clean-up. The instructor is responsible for developing fun, hands-on projects that allow both children and adults to actively participate together.Ceramics Grades 3–5 After-School Instructor, Orange Art Center
Orange Community Education and Recreation is currently seeking an experienced ceramics instructor to teach an after-school ceramics class for students in grades 3–5 at the Orange Art Center. This position takes place on Thursdays from 3:45–5:30 pm, with additional time allotted for daily set-up and clean-up. The instructor is responsible for planning engaging, age-appropriate lessons, preparing materials, and ensuring a safe and positive studio experience.Foundations of Oil Painting Instructor, Orange Art Center
Orange Community Education and Recreation is seeking a skilled and passionate oil painting instructor to teach Foundations of Oil Painting at the Orange Art Center. This weekday morning class serves beginner through intermediate adult students interested in developing technical skills and personal expression in oil painting. The instructor will be responsible for designing and leading structured lessons that cover core oil painting techniques such as color mixing, brushwork, composition, layering, and safe studio practices. Candidates should have proven experience teaching oil painting to adults, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a welcoming, supportive classroom that nurtures creativity and confidence.Ceramics Instructor, Orange Art Center
Orange Community Education and Recreation is seeking an experienced individual to serve as a Ceramics Instructor at the Orange Art Center. This position takes place on Sunday mornings with additional time allotted for daily set-up and clean-up. The instructor is responsible for planning engaging lessons, preparing materials, and assisting with kiln firing. Qualified candidates should have experience teaching ceramics to adults, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster creativity in a supportive learning environment.Young Artist Studio Tech, Orange Art Center
Orange Community Education and Recreation is currently seeking a responsible and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Young Artist Studio Tech at the Orange Art Center. This seasonal position works Saturdays from 10 am – 3 pm (5 hours/week) and may also serve as an after-school substitute when needed. The Young Artist Studio Tech is primarily responsible for supporting instructors, assisting with program set-up and clean-up, and helping to foster a welcoming and creative studio environment for children and families.Ceramics Studio Tech Assistant, Orange Art Center
Orange Community Education and Recreation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Ceramics Studio Tech Assistant at the Orange Art Center. This temporary, as-needed position works closely with the ceramics technicians to help manage studio operations and maintain a safe, well-organized work environment. Qualified candidates should have excellent organizational skills, the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and a commitment to supporting the creative process for community members of all ages. Previous experience in a ceramics studio is helpful but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ART INSTRUCTORS:
Experience teaching art to children, teens, or adults
Degree in Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related field
Ability to create and implement lesson plans for students of varying skill levels
Ability to create a positive, well-managed classroom environment
Enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring creativity
Must pass a background check and fingerprinting
