About Orange Art Center

Situated in a serene park setting, nestled in the woods just outside Orange High School in Pepper Pike, the Orange Art Center is located in a former residence, built in the 1930s. Initially offering classes in 1980, the organization has welcomed students of all ages and skill levels from neighborhoods throughout Northeast Ohio into our community for more than 38 years. The Orange Art Center features a unique indoor gallery space ideal for 2D and 3D artist work. The expansive and visible outdoor space may be utilized for sculpture artists installations. The Orange Art Center is offering you the opportunity to curate your own gallery right in the heart of Northeast Ohio's vibrant art community. Orange Art Center is calling for artist groups to submit proposals for an exhibition for Fall 2019.

How it Works

The Orange Art Center provides their indoor gallery space as well as their outdoor park setting as a venue for an art exhibition and/or installation this Fall 2019. The artist group understands they will be responsible for creating a relevant/trending theme for the show, planning, installing, collaborative marketing and breaking down the exhibition, under the guidelines and support of Orange Art Center. Artists should be prepared to show their work from August - December. Exact exhibition dates will be determined upon acceptance of the proposal.

Selection Process

All interested artist groups must first submit a completed application by e-mail to artcenter@orangecsd.org. These proposals are then reviewed by the Orange Art Center staff. The criteria for judging will be the quality, engagement, interaction, and compatibility of the work within the OAC gallery and installation spaces. If selected, artists will be invited to the art center for an in-person final interview. The final selected artist group will be notified no later than June 1, 2019.

Application Procedure

To be considered, please complete the application form and return it by email to artcenter@orangecsd.org. Email is the only method in which submissions may be received. For questions, email artcenter@orangecsd.org. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2019.

Acceptance

The Orange Art Center will confirm the receipt of each proposal by e-mail. Interviews will be scheduled by e-mail and all members of the artist group must be present for the interview process. Acceptance notification will be sent by e-mail by June 1, 2019.
