I have shown this body of work before, can I still apply?

  • This residency is designed to support artists developing a body or work to be shown for the first time, whether that work is brand new, or in progress.

Are there any restricted mediums or supplies?

  • Yes, due to our facilities and safety policies, the OAC is restricting the use of any supplies or materials that could prove dangerous to our community. This includes open flames with gas, dangerous chemicals, biohazard materials, and materials that require heavy-duty ventilation.

Are there any restricted themes or content?

  • Yes, the Orange Art Center is a community art center open to the public, which includes local school-age students. To keep our space open to all, we are asking applicants to avoid proposing work that showcases violence, nudity, hate speech, or any themes that may be harmful to others in the community.

Can I apply as part of a group?

  • Although the OAC loves the idea of a group residency and exhibition, we are currently only accepting applications for solo artists!
