Destyni Green Named 2025 Rising Arts Leader by Summit Artspace

May 27, 2025

We’re proud to share that Destyni Green, Art Center Coordinator at the Orange Art Center, has been named the 2025 Rising Arts Leader by Summit Artspace as part of their annual Arts Alive Awards.

This award honors an early-career arts professional who has made a significant impact within their first five years in the field. Since stepping into her role at the Orange Art Center in 2024, Destyni has strengthened the center’s programming and operations while leading with clarity, creativity, and care. Her work has helped position the center as a vital space for high-quality, accessible visual arts education in our region.

Destyni is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher, and experienced arts administrator based in Cleveland. She holds a BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media with a concentration in Creative Writing from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Master’s in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky. Beginning this fall, she will be pursuing her PhD in Arts Administration online through the University of Kentucky, continuing her commitment to research and leadership in the field.

She served as a board member for the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) from 2021 to 2025, co-planned the inaugural Women’s Perspectives in Arts Administration Symposium, and has presented at national conferences including Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts.

She is also a practicing artist working in textiles, ceramics, printmaking, and poetry. Her curatorial project Art in our Midst: African American Sculptors to Know was featured on the Emmy award-winning arts show Broad and High. Her work consistently focuses on equitable leadership and amplifying the voices of artists, students, and underrepresented creatives.

Destyni was honored at the Arts Alive Gala on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at House Three Thirty in Akron, along with a full slate of award recipients. We are excited to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and proud to have her guiding the Orange Art Center.
