NEW! Ceramic Animal Figurine Workshop   Adults + Teens 16+

Create charming animal figurines in this fun and hands-on workshop! You’ll learn essential ceramic techniques, including hand-building and adding intricate details, to craft unique creations. Your pieces will be glazed and fired, and students will need to make arrangements to pick them up 2–3 weeks after the workshop. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists, all materials are included!

NEW! Wheel Thrown Pitcher Workshop   Adults + Teens 16+

Craft your own wheel-thrown pitcher in this immersive two-day workshop designed for intermediate students with prior wheel-throwing experience. On April 8, you’ll shape and throw your pitcher, focusing on creating a balanced form. On April 22, you’ll refine your piece by trimming, adding the handle, and decorating it. You’ll also select your glaze color, and we’ll handle the glazing and firing for you. After firing, students will need to make arrangements to pick up their completed work 2–3 weeks later. Perfect for those looking to refine their wheel-throwing skills. All materials are provided!

You’ll learn the basics of slab-building techniques to craft your own unique birdhouse, with a focus on form, texture, and adding personalized details. Your piece will be glazed and fired, and students will need to make arrangements to pick it up 2–3 weeks after the workshop. NEW! Wheel Thrown Planter Workshop   Adults + Teens 16+

Create your own wheel-thrown planter with a built-in watering well in this two-day workshop designed for intermediate students with prior wheel-throwing experience. On May 6, from 6–8 pm, you’ll shape your planter and learn to create the watering well as part of a cohesive, functional piece. On May 20, from 6–7 pm, the second class will focus on trimming and decorating your planter, where you’ll refine its shape and add personal touches. You’ll also select your glaze color, and we’ll handle the glazing and firing for you. Students will need to make arrangements to pick up their completed pieces 2–3 weeks later. All materials are provided!

NEW! A Room of One's Own: Ceramic Workshop Adults + Teens 16+

Design and build your own ceramic room of your own in this two-session workshop, where you’ll explore hand-building techniques, create patterned textures, and add personalized details. In the first session on May 4 (12:00–3:00 pm), you’ll construct the walls, floors, and furniture, shaping a unique space of your choice. The second session on May 18 (12:00–2:00 pm) will focus on glazing, allowing you to bring color and character to your miniature room. We’ll handle the firing, with finished pieces ready for pickup in 2–3 weeks. All materials are provided!

In this three-hour color workshop, students will learn the power of the color wheel, how to mix colors, color schemes, color temperature, and the difference between color intensity and color value through artist tempera paint. Understanding and having a command of color is essential to creating dynamic artwork. All skill levels are welcome. All materials are included.

Explore the art of linocut printmaking in this hands-on introductory workshop! You’ll learn how to design and carve a small linoleum block, transforming it into a unique stamp that can be printed on paper, fabric, and more. We’ll experiment with stamping techniques, repetition, and color to bring your designs to life. This accessible and versatile printmaking method is perfect for beginners and creatives looking to explore a new artistic medium. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring extra paper, cards, or fabric to print on!

NEW! Spring Scenes: An Introduction to Outdoor Photography Adults + Grades 10 - 12

This 2-day nature photography workshop is for those who are interested in using their DSLR or mirrorless camera, and/or cellphone to photograph Northeast Ohio seasons. Designed to accommodate those with little to no experience and those with more advanced skills, this workshop will instruct you on how to best use and develop techniques when photographing outdoor spaces! We start at the OAC by covering some basic photography skills and discussing some more advanced approaches, then travel to the South Chagrin Reservation for practice!

Create beautiful, handmade cards for celebrations in this fun and creative workshop. You'll get to choose your own celebration theme and learn how to design a card that fits it perfectly. We'll cover key aspects of typography, spacing, ornamentation, illustration, and overall card design. With the support of the instructor and your fellow artists, you'll think through the theme and build a cohesive design around it.
