John A sargent III
John A Sargent III is a native Clevelander and professional artist since graduating with his MFA in painting from Ohio State University in 1988. His undergraduate degree is from Trinity College Hartford Connecticut in 1984, and he attended Hawken School graduating in 1980. He was an Adjunct teacher of drawing painting and design at Ohio State University, and has taught at Tri C Metro, Tri C East, and Orange Art Center. He has taught seminars at the Albright Knox museum in Buffalo.
John has exhibited widely. His work has been seen in The Cleveland Museum of Art’s May show, The Ohio State Fair, OOVAR in Columbus, The Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, The Butler Institute of American Art, The Elmhurst Museum among others. He is represented locally by the Bonfoey Gallery. His work is represented in the collections of Progressive Insurance, Cleveland Metro Health, Cleveland Ronald McDonald House, The Cleveland Clinic, Pfizer Corporation, Parker Hannifin, Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, And the US Supreme Court, among others. He was the recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in 2015.
John currently serves as a board member of the Artist Archives of the Western Reserve and on the Gallery Committee at Valley Arts Center.
